| Shania's Show opened with Lahey a totally awesome
band from Ontario Canada, there is 11 Brothers & Sisters
in this family while 10 of them perform in the band there is one of
the female plays that is totally awesome she plays the fiddle, first she
plays it normally then wow she's playing it up side down well you think that's
good then she plays it with one hand behind her leg, and that's not all she
then sits down plays the fiddle and tap dances also. Let me just say that
they were wonderful, and the express there appreciation to Shania for including
them on her World Tour .
Lahey says they will do one more number and then turn the stage over to the Queen they finish their last number and get a Standing Ovation. |
Then The Real Show Started |
| The anticipation was extreme everyone in the house waiting
to see Shania, they began chant Shania-Shania-Shania,
finally the lights dimmed and we heard the voice of an Angel and it was Shania
asking are you ready Madison, the entire crowd
was on their feet and screaming , in mean the
rouse roared and she burst out with Man I Feel Like a Woman the entire audience
sang along with her, she was wearing the dark gray nylon pants with a crop
top and vest with the arm bands, lets just say she was
Beautiful as always the crowd continued to sing with her.
Then when into the second or third song she signals for the young girl in the from row to come up on stage and sing I'm Holdin on to Love with her (a touching moment) Shania continued to entertain the audience like no other star can she continued to invite young ladies up on the stage to sing with her, at one moment she say's I may have everyone up her before the nights over. Well then of course the moment that all of Madison has been waiting for their local girl (looking like Leann Rimes) gets to come up on stage and sing What Made You Say That, then later in the show she jumps up on the Giant Drum and disappears by dropping into the drum and all the lights go out and she reappears in the audience being carried by Security Guards through the audience on a small stage and she is touching hands with the fans and she throws out two Gitano Jean Jacket with SHANIA TWAIN 1998 CONCERT TOUR on the back and her Autograph on the front and can you believe it I caught one, it was a bit of a struggle because you know you can't even buy one of those so it's priceless (Pic) and two other people had a hold on it also, but they were no match for a die hard & determined Shania Fan that weighs in at 275Lbs. Then my favorite part of the entire show, she announce that Lahey will be joining her for this next number and of course I know what's coming and I'm just ecstatic and she starts out COOL and the entire audience is singing so loud that we almost drown out the Queen but fortunatly we didn't't, that was the loudest the audience was all night I guess it must have been everyone else favorite too. Well one of the saddest part of the evening was her talking about the hunger that she endured as a child and that there are many many children still suffering from the same fate that she did and that all the proceeds from her Cd GBTC goes to help feed the hungry children in North America and Second Harvest Food Bank is the Charity that collects and distributes food to the children and mentions that they will be taking donations after the show. Well then a local quire group joins her on the stage and she begins one of her best songs ever God Bless The Child. Well the saddest part of the night has arrived when she says Good Night Madison and she is OUT OF HERE Out of the two shows I've been to this was the best!!! |

I was at Shania's concert in Ottawa last nite. WOW! I entered the Corel Centre liking Shania alot, but I left the 2.5 hour concert agenuine FAN! She sang, she danced, she kicked, she talked (genuinely spoke to the audience, not the usual pre-programmed peaches), she thrilled the audience! I have gained ALOT of R.E.S.P.E.C.T. for Shania. She is definately a Diva. She sang all her hits. the only song that was missing was one for the "WIM" CD ("If It Dont Take 2"). Also, "Leaving is the only way out" and "Home Aint' where his heart is anymore" and "TWIM" and were in a meldey -- not the entire song. [I hope I got the songs right) Of course, she did my song "No One Needs 2 know right now" in it's entirely! It rocked! Shania did the "regular" predicatalbe encore ("If you're not in it 4 love" and "Don't be stupid") after which she 'dissappears' into a big drum. that's where the concert ends for most Americans. but in her [Honey I'm] Home province, she extended it! She did a "tour" of the staduim on on a "mat" (like your're on an elephant's back, but w/o the elephant) so everyone could get a close look... then she came back on stage (again) and sang "We're gonna rock this country" and then a "different" version of Any Man of Mine. and then she left. I passed her limo on my way out. Shania's concert ROCKED! I was BEHIND the stage, a section of tickets which was made available after the 'real' tix sold out. I was REALLY close 2 shania. No need for binoculars. And I went on a crazy fluke -- got a single ticket for $30 from an immigrant father of 3 who's wife could not attend. Norm (that's his name) and I chatted and got along great! Crazy, I know. But knowing what I know now, I'd have paid $50 + for that ticket. It was a better place to sit than way in front of that stage, even tho Shania did not face us for most of the concert. (there was a large screen to view her from the front). And the camera had really close-up shots of Shania during the slow songs (I love those too-close-for-comfort tv shots where U can almost see her nose hair!) hmmmm what else? Shania brought some random fans who had bad tickets down to the front, as well as a group of 8 fans from the QC side who had made a HUGE banner for Shania. they went on stage with her and one of them got to sing with her, too! I was soooooo jealous! Another thing that impressed me was how she gives $ to the "feed needy kids" charities in every city she tours in. It's not the typical"I am a big success so I have to adopt a charitable cause" gimmickShe talked about how she *knows* what it is to go to bed hungry. This whole charity thing isn't just 'for show'. It's close to her heart. She's been there. All in all, Shania is so "real". No big make-up job, no outlandish clothes, no plastic surgery. It's just her and her rock-n-roll. *Frooooooooooooom* *Thiiiiiiiiiis* *Moment*, I am a Shania fanatic. Shania! Shania! Shania! U go girl! -- Rachel the new Shania fan.
Melbourne, Australia Feburary 17, 1999
On Wednesday 17 of February 1999 was a special night for me and the rest of the Aussie Melbourne, Victorian Shania fans:0). Yes that's right Shania Twain was in concert. Anyway, let me get on my review ....
I went to school that day but I couldn't concentrate because all I could think about was Shania's concert. Soon as school was finally over and I went to get change to get ready to be picked up. Sue Little (A friend of mum's) came to pick me up. Sue and I went to wait for the bus which was worth 40 minutes wait. Soon as the bus came we hoped on and of we went to Melbourne.
On the way to Melbourne we stopped for tea and while I was their I saw my Auntie who was also going to the concert too. I didn't know she was going too. Anyway, I finally got my tea and went to sit down to eat it. I didn't feel all that hungry because I was to excited to eat:0).
It was time to go back on the bus to go to Melbourne. I started reading a book for awhile. I couldn't read because all I could still think about was the concert and how Shania was going to change my life forever (Which is true and I'll tell you a bit about that later). So I sat in the bus staring outside my window. Soon the bus was crawling closely to the Tennis Center/Melbourne Park and I started feeling Nervous, Excited and I had a funny feeling inside me because I was feeling sick inside because I could saying hear my inner voice saying "I hope Shania isn't sick and doesn't end up canceling her concert like Mariah did" I kept shaking that awful image away. Anyway, soon as we got to the Tennis Center we all hoped out of the bus and had to run inside because it was raining that night. I actually was be able to go inside the Tennis Center than being turned away. Soon as I got inside Sue and I went to the Servoniour shope to buy a Shania Twain T-shirt (Which I love to death).
Soon we fianlly went to our seats (I was sitting in Lower T 172 which wasn't a bad seat), Then finally the lights dimmed the support act was on (I'm not sure if we had the same support act as you Shania fans had) They were good I liked them. Then they left. Soon the light dimmed again and The Name appeared acroos the screen:0) You guessed it It was SHANIA!!!!!! The crowd went wild soon as Shania came on and She sang MAN I FEEL LIKE A WOMAN. She then sang HONEY, I'M HOME I raised My fist everytime she sang the Hey bit She was wearing a white see-through top with a black top under neath and Black Pants. Anyway, the next song she sang YOU WIN MY LOVE. Then she said "The next song I'm going to sing is WHEN" The Otheer songs she sang were YOU'RE STILL THE ONE, BLACK EYES BLUE TEARS, WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T. There is too many songs to remeber what Shania sang.
The best part of the night when she brought these 2 girls up on stage. She got them to sing. Shania had told us (Her fans) that the 2 girls were wearing the same Lepord skins that Shania wears in the TDIMM Video. I thought cool. She made them sing the song. Yes the crowd went wild. Then Shania herself sand the song.
But the most memerial part of the night was when Shania was in the crowd, She was slapping fives with fans down the back but guess what Shanai Waved at me. I almost freaked when Shania waved at me I'll never forget that and I know I'll never will. Shania has really changed my life. Shania's music will always be deep down in my heart. I love her music and I will never let go of her music for the rest of my life. IF You SHANIA FANS ARE GOING TO SHANIA'S CONCERTS REMEMBER 2 WORD!!!! HAVE FUN!!!!! I really hope Shania Twain comes back to Australia for the 5th time:0)
My Thank You message for Shania: Shania, you have changed my life since your concert. I loved every minute of it. Thanks for making such a beautiful and wonderful show love always, Your Aussie Fan Carley.
I hope you enjoy reading this....
