Shania Twain's Come On Over has been certified for shipments topping 10 million, making her the first female performer to earn diamond certification with consecutive releases. Shania's 1993 album The Woman in Me has sold more than 11 million copies.  

CMT Canada's Shania Sunday, a 13-hour special that aired March 14, drew 2.34 million viewers -- the biggest audience ever for one of the network's programs. The special, which featured Shania Twain live footage and videos, easily bested the viewership of CMT Canada's showing of Garth Brooks Live in Central Park. CMT Canada

Though recovering from a cold, Shania Twain blew away fans in Toronto Tuesday. She brought five kids holding a "Shania, can we come on over?" banner up on stage and also introduced her nephew Dylan to the audience. Meanwhile, VH1 will rerun the CBS special Shania Twain's Winter Break   April 7.  

While trying to calm a nervous teenager chosen to sing "What Made You Say That" at Shania Twain's Ottawa concert Wednesday, Shania recounted an embarrassing incident of her own. Once, when touring with her high school band, Shania got such stage fright that, she says, "I just peed myself."   Article

Shania Twain spent Tuesday in Ottawa being photographed for the June cover of Glamour. The three-hour shoot with photographer Wayne Maser was catered by a local Italian restaurant. "She's very health conscious, and she had a specific menu," said the owner of the studio where the shoot took place .

Fans in British Columbia jammed phone lines trying to buy Shania Twain tickets Saturday. A woman had to call 911 six times before getting through to report that her 87-year-old husband had collapsed. Paramedics eventually arrived and were able to revive the man.

Shania Twain Among the Beatles, Kenny Rogers and Garth Brooks walked away with a New Diamond Award for sales over 10 Million for her 1996 The Woman in Me.

When 16-year-old Stephanie Jackson learned she'd been picked to sing "What Made You Say That" at Shania Twain's Ottawa concert tonight, she says she got so excited she started "bawling her eyes out." "I love Shania Twain, and I love to sing," says Stephanie.  

Even after grossing $36 million in ticket sales last year, Shania Twain still believes that choosing not to tour after the release of The Woman in Me in 1995 was the right decision. "If I had toured then, [the tour] this year would not have been nearly as exciting," she says.

Shania Twain says the most courageous act of her career was wearing a bare-midriff outfit in her first video. Although her record company didn't forbid her to show her navel, "It was more like, 'We're kind of advising against that. This could be the end of your career,'" she recalls.  Article

They hold the top two spots in album sales for 1998, and they are also in the top five for overall album sales for the year. Garth "sevens" finished third for the year selling 5.2 million copies. And shania's come on over came in at number 5 with 4.6 million in sales.

Canadian singer Shania Twain led all performers with five American Music Awards nominations, which were announced Monday. Shania is up for five awards, including Favorite Female Artist in both the country and pop/rock categories. ABC will air the ceremony Jan. 11.  

Shania Twain is playing the University of Tennessee at Knoxville's Thompson-Boling Arena Friday, keeping ESPN from broadcasting its College Gameday show from that venue Saturday. The Gameday crew wanted to erect the show's stage on a ramp leading into the arena, but says they wouldn't have time to set up after Shania's show. Nashville

Shania Twain has extended her tour into the early days of 1999. She'll perform New Year's Eve at the America West Arena in Phoenix, Ariz., before playing what will likely be the last show of her U.S. tour, at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nev., Jan. 2. Article

Shania Twain will join pop stars the Goo Goo Dolls and 'N Sync at the Jingle Ball '98 concert at New York's Madison Square Garden Dec. 17. The annual concert raises money for charities including the Lupus Foundation of America and SHARE, a self-help group for women with breast or ovarian cancer.  

Women like Shania Twain and Faith Hill have dominated country charts for much of the year. Most of the successful new artists are also female -- Jo Dee Messina, Lee Ann Womack, the Dixie Chicks. "The women are taking more chances," explains one industry person.

The couple had put their 3,000-acre estate on the market for a reported $9 million and announced they were looking for property in Switzerland. Denying cynics' reports that it was the small European country's advantageous tax laws that prompted the move, Twain instead said they are making the move for recording reasons. Article

Shania Twain says the secret to her success is that her songs deal with real life issues. She always tries to write songs that deal with everyday social issues, because that's what people talk about. She also tries to keep her music sounding simple and comfortable, that way people want to sing along with her.

Shania Twain's Come on Over has reached 6 million in American sales and more than 7 million worldwide. Her label, Mercury Records, expects the album to reach the 10-million mark in January or February, now that the album is available through record clubs. Shania is doing a photo shoot for the magazine Cosmopolitan, and the issue should be out sometime soon.

Shania Twain says the privacy she and husband/producer Mutt Lange are seeking with their move to Switzerland isn't so much for them personally as it is for their music. "It's kind of hard to record when you have everyone wanting to know what you're doing all the time," Shania says. Article

Shania Twain will join Peter Gabriel, Radiohead, Alanis Morissette and Tracy Chapman at the Amnesty International Concert for Human Rights Defenders in Paris Dec. 10. The concert celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Shania is scheduled to perform "From This Moment On" at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony Dec. 11 in Oslo, Norway. The ceremony will be telecast live to an estimated 500 million viewers.

That the very confident Shania Twain used to be extremely shy. She says she used to get very upset when her looks attracted unwanted attention from boys. But she has definitely come into her own, and it shows when she performs in front of thousands of people on stage.

Shania twain is denying the stories in the tabloids that have been circulating about her and her husband, Mutt Lange. There are constantly stories that they are on the brink of divorce and Shania denies it emphatically. She says the rumors are part of the reason they are moving to Switzerland. She also hopes that the move will allow her a little more freedom to move about in public, without being swamped by media.

Shania Twain had to cut short her concert in Syracuse, N.Y., Monday after lightning struck near the stage. Shania continued to perform after the bolt hit, but the storm caused her to end the show after about 70 minutes. E! Online

Shania Twain's parents taught her a very valuable lesson at an early age. They made her try alcohol when she was just 13 years old. She says they wanted to teach her very early the damage alcohol can do. Shania says she's thankful for the experience, since these days she never drinks it.

Shania is amidst a flurry of activity touring these days. You might think she'd just like to kick back and put her feet up when she finally gets some time to herself, but instead, Shania likes to ride her horse to relax. She often rides her horse, Dancer, before a concert to settle herself.

Shania says horses have a calming effect on her. She says no matter how hectic her life is, when she's around her horse she has to move much more slowly and speak softly. You have no choice but to become more relaxed.

Shania Twain and Bryan White, will be teaming up for another duet. Shania originally asked Bryan to sing with her on their hit 'From This Moment On', and now Bryan has asked her to return the favour. No title has been given for the new duet, but it will be on Bryan's new album due out in the fall.

Shania Twain's Album, 'Come on Over has broken the 6 million mark in sales, and shania has become the best selling female country artist of all time. the mark hasn't slowed shania down one bit. she's just completed a photo shoot with 'rolling stone' magazine for their current issue.
